Robert E. Coleman, MD, FRCP, is Professor and Honorary Consultant Medical Oncologist at the Cancer Research Centre, Academic Unit of Clinical Oncology, at Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield, England. He is also Director of the Cancer Research Centre in Sheffield, Research Lead for Cancer Research at the University of Sheffield, and Research Lead for the North Trent Cancer Research Network in England. Professor Coleman received his medical degree from the University of London and trained in oncology at Guy's Hospital in London and Western General Hospital in Edinburgh.

Active in clinical research, Professor Coleman's research interests include cancer-induced bone disease and drug development for breast and ovarian cancer. He has authored more than 200 publications and 250 abstracts. He has also served as Editor for Cancer Treatment Reviews since 1995.

Professor Coleman is Chairman of the UK National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) Committee for Breast Cancer and a Member of the Board of the European Organization of Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) Breast Group. Professor Coleman is also President of the British Oncological Association and an Executive Member of the Cancer and Bone Society.
