Allan Lipton, MD
Allan Lipton, MD, a board certified specialist in internal medicine with subspecialty certification in medical oncology, is a Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Microbiology at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He is also Chief in the Division of Oncology at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center of Pennsylvania State University.
Dr. Lipton received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and completed an internship and residency at Cornell Medical Division, Bellevue Hospital, in New York. He completed a fellowship in hematology at Memorial Hospital for Cancer and Allied Diseases and New York Hospital, and a clinical fellowship in the Division of Medical Oncology at Memorial Hospital for Cancer and Allied Diseases and the Division of Chemotherapy Research at Sloan-Kettering Institute. Dr. Lipton also served as a research associate at the National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Arthritis and Metabolic Diseases, Laboratory of Biochemistry and Cellular Metabolism, as well as a Dernham Fellow at the American Cancer Society, Salk Institute for Biological Studies. Dr. Lipton has contributed to almost 500 publications and abstracts and to more than 30 books.
Dr. Lipton is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is also a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, American Association for Cancer Research, American Federation for Clinical Research, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, and the American Association for Cancer Education.
