Skeletal Wellness Institute for Cancer™ - Maintaining Bone Health
Practice Guidelines
No Established Guidelines

No consensus guidelines are in place for the management of bone metastases in men with prostate cancer.

Asco and other Guidelines
The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) has published guidelines "for initial hormone management of androgen-sensitive metastatic, recurrent, or progressive prostate cancer,"1 but these guidelines do not include specific recommendations for bone-targeted therapies. Therefore, they do not relate to the management of bone metastases.

Although individual centers and groups have developed local guidelines related to the management of bone metastases in prostate cancer, these guidelines have not reached consensus level.
